Is-sinjal għal MEJDA TAL-IKEL għandha żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal MEJDA li jsir bl-idejn forma ta’ 5 ħdejn xulxin fin-nofs fuq quddiem bil-pala tħares ’l isfel. L-idejn jimxu lejn il-ġnub, iduru biex pala ta’ id tħares lejn l-oħra, u jibqgħu neżlin ’l isfel. Id-distanza bejn l-idejn tintuża biex turi d-daqs (relattiv) tal-mejda. (ii) Imbagħad isir is-sinjal għal IKEL. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 imma bis-swaba’ jiltaqgħu u bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa. L-id timxi għal quddiem il-ħalq.

The sign for DINING TABLE has two parts. (i) First she sign for TABLE is made with both hands next to each other in the shape of 5 at the front in the middle and with palms facing downwards. The hands move towards the sides, turn so that palms face each other, and then continue moving downwards. The distance between the hands is used to indicate the relative size of the table. (ii) Then the shortened sign for FOOD is made. One hand takes the shape of 5 but with fingers meeting and palm facing inwards. The hand moves to the front of the mouth.
